Re-tooling
I have not blogged in a REALLY long time. I guess I just needed to disconnect for a while, on Twitter as well. Why I am not really sure, but it is what it is.
I think I just needed to find more applicable uses for my blog, more meaningful to me. I can share some ed. admin. ideas but I find I learn more from others and don’t really give a lot back. I will still share ideas as I get them, but I need to have a more direct purpose for blogging.
Since I have changed positions this year, I am teaching a bit more. Hence, it is only natural to use this as a meeting place for my students. Here I can share items and have them respond. This is in addition to their personal blogs as well.
I would also like to use my blog as a medium, to help parents understand better, what we do in education. As the years pass, I find it frustrating that school is a bit of a mystery to parents and I don’t think this is right. Blogs are a great way to invite conversation and share ideas. Maybe a few can be shared here with insights that can De-mystify schools for parents.
So let’s move forward!

Dave – Glad to see you blogging again! I think we need to step away from the “noise” that can overwhelm us here sometimes and refocus ourselves on what our priorities are. At least this is the truth for me!
Blogs are a great way to connect and create a more transparent look at what we are doing in our schools. We need to keep working to draw our stakeholders into this important conversation.
Good luck!
Thanks Patrick.
I marvel at how you stay so consistent with blogging and sharing ideas. I have read a lot about what you are doing at your school, just haven’t commented back I guess – ha! You keep up the good work now.
